got back from a lively trip in #Nicaragua and #Costa Rica.  Adventure was not too far by behind.  Below is the activities we did, fun and adventure in the sun:

  • Volcano Hikes: Mambacho
  • Coffee Tour
  • Volcano Night Tour Mayassa
  • Bat caves
  • Granada City Tour on horse carriage
  • Kayaking to Private Island: Zapongo where we met the money: Cashew and the owner
  • Beaches
  • Horse back riding to Mud Bath and Hot Springs
  • 10-cable Zip-lining though the rainforest
  • Steak at Don Shula’s
  • Flor de Cana and Tonas till your heart content!
  • Boat Tour

Though Costa Rica has their tourism down a science, Nicaragua is no far behind.

It was a blessing to visit these areas and even more so to appreciate the voyage back home after enriching experiences, humility of culture & history, and appropriate gratification of the Land of the Free!

Hey Peeps – Love this time of year.  The lights are up, people are friendlier, the red starbucks cups, the awesome pea coats, and most wonderful of all, commemorating Jesus Christ Birth!

So this year, I’ve spoke to some people who don’t feel the joy of christmas. Can’t help but feel sad because you know what?  Not about the gifts, but rather the spirit of Christmas. Giving.

It’s what the Grinch said, maybe Christmas is a little bit….more.

So if you have a smile, give.

If you have kind thoughts, speak

If you have enough, give.

If you have arms, hug.

If you have ears, listen.

If you have eyes, see the world around, and give what you are able to.

Happy Holidays! Warm Hugs & Wishes all around.

Presence vs. Daily Interactions

A friend of mine (bff) is undergoing several life events  (aka Tough times).

She used to hang out with colleagues/friends every day.  You know, go out, drinking, partying, and games ect.  What’s ironic is this: Just because you see someone every day doesn’t mean you are close or that they will be there for you.

Interesting. And very true.

It got me thinking ; there’s a difference with “presence”.  Presence is ‘being there’ in the good and bad, relied upon; a peace  and certainty that person is there whenever you need them or when you don’t, either way you can count on them.

Versus people who are just there.  Sure, because interact with them every day it would seem they are ‘there for you’ but when life hits you…indeed, may not be the case. Life trials will help “weed out”.

But for now, it’s a great reminder to spend time to with those that matter— rather make time with the people who have presence in your life. At the end of the day those are the ones you will turn to.

A friend of mine thinks I should pen my posts to the world; that I have an awesome perspective to offer in a space full of criticism and negativity; that my light must shine.  I think there’s plenty of light out there but I’ve been convicted to cast mine to the fire as well. (Kudos to those who have done so and continue to do so).

Words are powerful.

And even if no one like(s) or comment(s) on your post, believe this:

There’s someone out there who has read it, has been moved, or changed, or made better because of it.  So don’t stop. Do continue to write.

Here goes.

14 Things Successful People Do On Weekends – Forbes

So who are “successful people,” and what exactly are they doing on weekends?

A hater is someone who is jealous and envious and spends all
their time trying to make you look small so they can look tall.
They are very negative people to say the least. Nothing is ever
good enough! When you make your mark, you will always attract some
haters…That’s why you have to be careful with whom you share your
blessings and your dreams, because some folk can’t handle seeing you

It’s dangerous to be like somebody else…

If God wanted you to be like somebody else, He would have given
you what He gave them! Right? You never know what people have gone
through to get what they have.

The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but
they don’t know my story… If the grass looks greener on the other side
of the fence, you can rest assured that the water bill is higher there

We’ve all got some haters among us!  People envy you because you can:

Have a relationship with God
Light up a room when you walk in
Start your own business
Tell a man / woman to hit the curb (if he / she isn’t about the right thing)
Raise your children without both parents being in the home

Haters can’t stand to see you happy, Haters will never want to
see you succeed, Haters never want you to get the victory, most of our
haters are people who are supposed to be on our side. How do you handle
your undercover haters?

You can handle these haters by:

1. Knowing who you are & who your true friends are *(VERY IMPORTANT!!)
2. Having a purpose to your life? Purpose does not mean having a job.
You can have a job and still be unfulfilled. A purpose is having
a clear sense of what God has called you to be. Your purpose is not
defined by what others think about you.
3. By remembering what you have is by divine prerogative and not
human manipulation. Fulfill your dreams!

You only have one life to live…when it’s your time to leave this earth,
you ‘want’ to be able to say, ‘I’ve lived my life and fulfilled
‘my’ dreams,… Now I’m ready to go HOME! When God gives you favor, you can
tell your haters, Don’t look at me…Look at Who is in charge of me…’

Maya Angelou

I advise anyone who read this to use these words of wisdom to heal your heart / give you courage to go on. Do not use it to strike at your haters, or with that purpose in mind, instead share this poem with a person who can appreciate and cherish this poem.

When you’re going through something that’s probably the dumbest thing any one can ever tell you. We all want those clear – cut answers. We all wanna know if everything weve been through is worth something. We all want to have that meaning and sense of purpose in our life. It’s understandable.

But you also gotta realize that maybe the truth of the matter is, maybe we’re not ready to understand the real reason, maybe we’re not in the right mind state to be able to appreciate it’s value. So while it may seem like a never ending battle, hold on to that hope, hold on to that peace, hold on to the knowledge that ater the storm passes, you’re going to be okay and you’re gonna laugh like you never did before.

Sometimes you’ll make it out without any cuts or scrapes. Sometimes you’ll make it out with bruises and deep-wounded scars. And other times you’ll feel like you’re barely able to breathe. But the point is, you’ll make out alive and still firmly in tact. It’s amazing the resilience we have as people to overcome anything.

So I guess the point of this is one thing. Hold On. Keep holding on and don’t ever let go. When you quit on yourself? All is lost. So hold on and get through. After all most of life is about surviving. So survive. Live.

Just think. Someday, if your story is ever told, it’s going to make one hell of a biography.

“yo creo que la verdadera soledad es cuando te pierdes a ti mismo, y eso no hay que dejar que pase nunca, no hay que dejar de creer en ti y en tus sueños, porque te tienes que amar tú para que alguien te pueda amar”.

So, as a 21st birthday gift to myself, I decided to go to Los Angeles, California.
I took only one partner in crime, my sister, the garcia duo.

In a nutshell: California is awesome and fabolous….for tourism of course. If you’re just there for 2-3 days, you’ll have a blast! But make sure you have the cash saved up. I dropped like 400 dollars on the first day, not to mention the 2nd and 3rd and oh the fourth.

It’s all about apperances and glamour. You’ll find small town houses that range from #4-5 millions dollars. Then you’ll find houses on the Hills that start at $20million. There’s constant construction. UCLA campus is gorgeous and huge! But I can already see myself miserable by the enviorement not to mention the prices. Gas is expensive!

But don’t get me wrong. I love californians. They’re all hospitable and funny. The beaches are gorgeous! and the nightlife…well pricey. You DO need a car to get around LA, cabs ranges from 70-80 bucks from LAX aiport to CityWalk/Beverly Hils. I recommend you take the tour buses. You’ll get all the tourism places such as Venice Beach, Santa Monica, City Walk, Beverly Hills, walk of Fame, Hollywood, Chinese Theather, and other places minus self discovery of course.
Los Angeles is excellent place for business as well, my sister and I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel by LAX and there was a wedding, family reunion, and tons of business people going in and out and having conferences in the hotel.

Overall, ir was an awesome trip. I don’t think I’d like going to law school here or live there. but vacation? DEF. Well, that’s all folks!

Happy Fourth!
